Volkswagen Polo People Pleaser [P³] coverage , my gripes with the supposedly upgraded versions of the Polo Vivo are not easy to overlook.
First and foremost , the manually-operated rear windows are the dead give-away together with the ‘single-piece folding backrest’ , but also the needed & enticing digital fascia / instrumentation cluster in lieu of the retained analogue one which is way past long overdue ; taking into account that the ‘updated’ infotainment monitor in the middle of the Vivo dashboard being its prime interior selling point.
On the flag ship GT , the Kilowatts could still be upgraded to a 90 Kw improvement , if not altogether a full 100 Kw enticement.
A fully-fledged DSG transmission [as opposed to the currently lethargic and outdated Automatic gearbox , lest using the Tiptronic gear-selection] is also a needed permanent feature on the GT ; in improvement to the current 6 Speed manual gearbox wherein the 6th Gear is more cosmetic than a technicality leverage. Last, but not least, I hope that the VW white coats have taken the customers’ complaints seriously regarding the Vivo GT’s easily-punctured 17 Inch tyres.
The said tyres tend to be punctured by even small road holes at 80 Km/H and upwards ; especially due to our pot-holed Eastern Cape municipal roads.
The thin rubber and big rim combination can even be made vulnerable by the small holes that tend to form at bases where speed humps end and the flat tarmac begins.
