Christians will say it’s the end of time, many believers say it’s the end of human existence and others will say it’s an end of an era but all in all it’s the end of humanity, consciousness, and heartlessness.
South Africa has become a “shameful kiddie’s death factory”. Mouth-dropping statistics of the number of children dying from inhumane acts of other humans have been what many news readers have seen for the past few weeks. Cases of child mutation in this country, cases of children being raped and dismantled, cases of children missing and later found at a dump side. These are cases of children who haven’t reached a level of maturity, these are children who can’t yet protect themselves, and these are children who believed that being taken care of by an uncle, neighbor, sister, aunt, or brother they are safe.
It’s a sickening statistics as these culprits live amongst us each and every day, these are people we are most like to meet in one of these days acting normal because “life moves on” for them. Where will children live freely in this country because home is no longer considered as a “safe” space because the ones who are responsible to protect these children end up killing them.
In the past few months’ cases surrounding children being kidnapped and murdered have increased tremendously so. “At a rate of about 3 days, 549 children, some not even a year old were murdered in the first half of this year” (Sowetan Live).
I believe it can never be a mistake but an orchestrated act, its unforgiveable and needs the justice system to harder on those that commit these inhuman and shameless crimes.
Two weeks ago another incident life was taken. The four-year-old who still had dreams to fulfil was murdered for whatever reason that can never be an excuse ever in this life. Bokgabo Poo’s body was found in an open field in Tamboville, near Benoni. How are the families of many more other children are meant to continue with life when such things are happening to their loved ones?
We want to know why we’re not coping because what happened is inhumane. How can you mutilate and kill a four-year-old. – these are the questions the family of Bokgabo had for the accused?
How many more children are going to die in the hands of heartless human beings? Should the death penalty be brought back for such cases and more?
