Tambo Development Agency, hosted an Information Sharing Day and Inputs Handover under the Eyoluntu Project at the Municipal Offices in Mthatha on 24 October 2025. The engagement connected farmers, government departments, and private partners to share ideas and strengthen local agriculture.
What Happened
The session brought together farmers and development agencies from across the district.
It focused on practical ways to grow farming and boost small enterprises. Key goals included improving market access and developing agricultural skills. Stakeholders also discussed ways to help emerging farmers join the regional economy. Agencies such as ECRDA, ECDC, NAMC, and SEFA shared funding and training opportunities.
Official Response
Officials said the event reflects a strong commitment to rural development. “We aim to help farmers grow sustainable businesses and access new markets,” said a Ntinga O.R. Tambo Development Agency representative. The meeting encouraged partnerships between government and community structures.
Local municipalities including Nyandeni, KSD, Mhlontlo, Ingquza Hill, and Port St. Johns participated. Their presence showed unity in promoting agricultural and economic progress.
Community Impact
Farmers welcomed the platform as a vital source of information and support. They said the event gave them direction on how to grow their farms.
