The event showcased how the district’s natural beauty can create jobs, reduce poverty, and improve livelihoods. Speakers emphasized that the O.R. Tambo region holds some of the most attractive tourist sites in the Eastern Cape, with the potential to drive sustainable growth.

Mr. Mongezi Langa from the Eastern Cape Tourism Parks Agency (ECTPA) delivered a presentation on biodiversity offset. He stressed the need to protect the environment while developing tourism responsibly.

It reinforced the message that tourism can be a tool for both economic empowerment and environmental preservation. “Together, we must promote the beauty around us, for our people, our economy, and our future,” organisers said.
