Nyandeni Local Municipality has handed over a new Public Transport Facility in Marhubeni, Ward 04. The project represents a key milestone in local infrastructure development.
The facility aims to improve transport access for residents. It also supports safer and more organised public transport services.
In addition, the project created employment opportunities for local people during construction.

Jobs and Skills for Local Residents
A total of 19 community members were employed during the construction phase. The municipality also provided skills training to 10 local residents.
The training covered practical construction skills, including:
- Kerb and brick paver laying
- Concrete mixing and placing
- Bricklaying
- Construction health and safety
- Ground drainage systems
As a result, beneficiaries gained skills that can support future employment.
Economic Impact and Community Growth
Municipal officials described the project as part of a broader development plan. The aim is to link infrastructure delivery with job creation.
Meanwhile, community members welcomed the facility. They said it will improve daily travel and support local economic activity.
