The Mayor of Ntabankulu Local Municipality, Cllr Tsileng Sobuthongo, has officially handed over a preschool construction project for Ward 17’s Ntuli Village, reaffirming the municipality’s commitment to supporting early childhood education.

Since the current council was sworn in, the municipality has consistently built at least two early childhood development (ECD) facilities each year, ensuring young children in Ntabankulu have access to quality learning spaces.

Speaking to residents, Mayor Sobuthongo said that while the construction of such facilities is traditionally the responsibility of the education department, the municipality views education as a collective societal priority. “We made a commitment to continually invest in infrastructure to support basic education in Ntabankulu,” he explained.

The announcement was met with excitement from the community, with residents expressing gratitude for the initiative, which will see children learning in a safe, modern environment.
