Ntabankulu local Municipality mayor Tsileng Sobuthongo and the executive committee conducted their quarterly oversight visits on Wednesday the 1 st of February 2023, to check the progress in the ongoing projects in Ntabankulu.

Ntabankulu local Municipality mayor Tsileng Sobuthongo and the executive committee conducted their quarterly oversight visits on Wednesday the 1 st of February 2023, to check the progress in the ongoing projects in Ntabankulu.

They started in ward 10, to check a construction project for the new Traffic department offices that were set to be finished by March 2023. Reports say the project has created job opportunities for Ntabankulu residents since it started in 2021.

This project will be a Game changer in terms of service delivery in Ntabankulu and once it is finished we will   collect revenue to service Ntabankulu residents. Mayor Tsileng Sobuthongo was happy about the progress on the site”, said Lungisile Mzanywa the Ntabankulu local municipality spokesperson.

The municipality then visited Nkolobeni Poultry Primary Co-Operative, a community owned project in ward 11 at Ncama Location. The project was started back in 2009 by a group of 8 locals. The group buys Egg laying chickens and sell the eggs.

This visit follows after the Project received 1500 chicken and 730 (50KGs) of chicken food from the Department for Rural development in partnership with the Ntabankulu Local Municipality.

“This will change our lives for better, we were really sruggling as were were now running a loss. We appreciate what the government has done for us,” said Nomvu Mhlutshwa one of the founder.
