The shocking incident at Zanzou Nightclub in Pretoria spiked a firestorm of public cry criticism after disturbing videos surfaced on social media, showing young men being subjected to extreme violence, torture, and sexual assault by the club’s bouncers.
The allegations suggest that these evil acts were carried out on these people who allegedly couldn’t pay their bills or were accused of theft, although the nightclub has denied some of these claims.

The police have launched an investigation into the incidents, with the National Commissioner directing the Provincial Commissioner of Gauteng to track down the suspects involved. Three victims have reportedly filed charges, and the police are urging more victims or witnesses to come forward.
The nightclub’s management has responded by dismissing the bouncers involved in the alleged abuse, acknowledging the “practices” carried out, and stating they are prepared to cooperate with law enforcement.
However, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in Tshwane have protested at the club, demanding its closure until investigations are completed and also calling for an investigation into the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) regarding the security personnel’s fitness for the job.
The saga has raised significant human rights concerns, with discussions around the treatment of consumers and a call for increased accountability in nightlife venues. There are also claims of a cover-up, with a former bouncer alleging that the owners of Zanzou are working with local police to cover up crimes, including possible murders.
As the investigation continues, the public is calling for justice for the victims and demanding tougher regulations on security practices in nightlife establishments.
