the Walter Sisulu Local Municipality has launched its Mayoral IDP Outreach Program, starting in James Calata. Mayor Councilor Vania Davids met with residents to share progress on services and hear concerns. Many elders attended to raise issues affecting their community.

0n 27 October 2025 , Ward Councillor Nomanono Moyo welcomed residents and encouraged them to engage openly. Mayor Davids reported on key projects underway across the municipality.
One major concern raised by locals was the Sarah Morosi Stadium, a project that has stalled for years. The Mayor agreed that long-delayed infrastructure must be concluded, while new development should continue to improve daily living conditions.

Mayor Davids assured residents that their priorities remain central to the municipality’s planning.
“We must finish what we started and move forward with projects that change people’s lives,” she said. “Service delivery must show real progress in every ward.”
She encouraged more residents to attend upcoming IDP sessions to help shape the future of the municipality.
