On 4 November 2025, MMC Yolisa Pali-Jongilanga opened a new traffic circle on Kamesh Road in Kariega. The opening was attended by officials from the Roads and Transport Directorate, BLB Contractors, and the local Ward Councillor.
What Happened
The new traffic circle forms part of the Municipality’s plan to upgrade road infrastructure and improve mobility for residents. It also prepares the area for the rollout of the Integrated Public Transport System (IPTS), which will bring safer and more efficient transport services to communities.
Official Remarks
Councillor Pali-Jongilanga emphasized the importance of maintaining municipal roads and protecting public infrastructure. “Residents must take ownership of the infrastructure provided, as it plays a vital role in improving mobility, safety, and accessibility,” she said.
