The Winnie Madikizela Mandela Local Municipality has officially handed over a contractor for a new infrastructure project in Redoubt Village, Ward 20, on 4 September 2025. The project, awarded to Mabhula Force, will see the construction of a 360 square metre pavement at the Amos Nogxina Hall, a key community facility in the area.
According to the municipality, the project is expected to be completed within one month. Beyond the infrastructure upgrade, it will also provide temporary work opportunities for six local residents, giving short-term economic relief while enhancing community spaces.
Speaking at the handover, Councilor Dlamini, a member of the Speaker’s Committee, urged residents to work hand in hand with the appointed contractor to ensure the project is completed within the planned timeline. He emphasized that community cooperation plays a vital role in successful service delivery initiatives.
