What Happened
The municipality and SEDFA delivered a ready-to-use tractor and a Mahindra bakkie to support local farming efforts. The handover celebrated a step forward for the KwaBhaca KaMadzikane initiative, led by community elder Tata Mapasa.
“Ndiziva ndinovuyo olungazenzisiyo… phambili nenjenjalo nakwamanye amafama,” said beneficiary Nomaphelo Mapasa, expressing deep gratitude for the support.
Official Response
Municipal officials said the equipment forms part of a broader rural development drive. They noted that the partnership aims to strengthen small-scale farmers and improve local food production. In addition, SEDFA confirmed that more tools and machinery will arrive in the coming days.
Community Impact
Residents welcomed the move, saying it will boost livelihoods and expand farming activity in Godola. As a result, more households expect better access to resources, support, and economic opportunities. Meanwhile, project leaders hope the new equipment will increase output and create long-term stability for local farmers.
