The music fraternity is now reportedly mourning the loss of Bacardi musician Sammy Moripe, who was one half of the duo Pencil & Zing Master. It is unclear how Moripe, who was known as Pencil, passed away.
News of Pencil’s reported death are yet to be confirmed, but there is a string of reactions on various social media platforms, including on Twitter after the account @KasiEconomy posted about it.
“Another Barcadi artist has passed on Rest in Peace to Sammy ‘Pencil’ Moripe from the Barcadi duo – Pencil & Zingmaster. We send our deepest condolences to the Moripe family. This a huge loss to the township of Atteridgeville and PTA townships,” the tweet reads.
Moripe’s death is another blow to the Bacardi music scene and fans of Pencil & Zing Master. It follows the passing of Pretorian DJ and producer Vusi Ma R5. The Bacardi king — whose real name is Itumeleng Mosoeu — gunned down in the early hours Monday, 30 January, in Soshanguve, Gauteng.
