The Municipal Public Accounts Committee (MPAC) has rolled out a ward-by-ward oversight programme across King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality. The four-day operation covers active projects and recently handed-over developments in Tsolo and Qumbu. The inspections aim to confirm progress and strengthen accountability.
What Happened
The MPAC team began its tour in Tsolo, moving through roads, halls and early childhood centres. Members focused on verifying construction quality and checking whether each project aligns with approved plans.
In addition, the committee used the visits to engage local leaders and assess community needs linked to ongoing work.

Official Response
Committee members said the work forms part of their mandate to monitor public spending and ensure projects deliver value to residents.
“Once the visits are complete, our findings will be tabled before Council,” an MPAC representative said. “Council will then determine the next steps to secure better service delivery.”
Community Impact
The oversight programme aims to close gaps that often delay infrastructure completion. Moreover, it strengthens transparency by giving residents confidence that projects are monitored.
Communities in both Tsolo and Qumbu welcomed the visits, noting that visible oversight builds trust and speeds up problem-solving.
