Another tragedy has struck the family of missing Amahle Thabethe. Amahle disappeared on 6 April 2019 while playing with her friends in the street not far from her home. This year, she would have turned 14.
Her mother, Nokulunga Nkosi (36), still hopes to see her walk into her arms again. Life has not been easy for Nokulunga, who was at one stage admitted to hospital due to stress.
Spokeswoman for Ekurhuleni Police, Captain Nelda Sekgobela, said they were following leads that could see Amahle back home.
This time, her dad Mzwakhe Thabethe, who went missing on Friday, 1 November, after visiting friends in Heidelberg.
His family became worried when Mzwakhe didn’t return and started circulating his photo on social media.
It came as a shock to discover that the person they thought was still alive, was actually dead. Mzwakhe’s family said they found his body at a government mortuary in Heidelberg and according to them, he died in a car accident.
Another relative said: “It’s sad that Mzwakhe died while his daughter was still missing.”
His family didn’t want to comment further except to say they wanted to be allowed space to mourn.
