Miss South Africa 2025, Qhawekazi Mazaleni, arrived in the Home of Legends at Mthatha Airport. She was welcomed on the runway by King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality Councillor G. N. Nelani. Senior leaders and local officials also attended the moment.
The MEC for DSRAC, Sibulele Ngongo, joined the reception. Mbhashe Local Municipality Executive Mayor, Dr Samkelo Janda, was also present. OR Tambo District Municipality Chief Whip, Councillor Nomvuzo Mlombile-Cingo, attended with mayoral committee members, officials, and members of the Mazaleni family. Supporters and friends gathered to witness the special occasion.

Mbhashe Local Municipality, in partnership with King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality and Mbhashe LG Mall, will host her official homecoming celebration.

Qhawekazi’s achievement represents more than a national crown. It serves as a reminder that young people from this community can rise, lead, and achieve their dreams. Her return home reflects pride, hope, and local inspiration.
As Miss South Africa, she advances her Empower Youth Africa (EYA) mandate with a strong focus on inclusive education. She believes education is the foundation for breaking cycles of poverty and unemployment. She continues to advocate for opportunities that allow every child to thrive.
Her homecoming celebrates her roots. It also strengthens her mission to empower, include, and inspire young people across South Africa.
