
Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development Mzwanele Nyhontso has launched a back to school campaign, aiming to improve the lives of learners from rural communities. As part of this initiative, learners from Mganu PS and Tyelimhlophe Agricultural School received essential educational tools, including school bags, shoes, pens, pencils, and sanitary towels.
According to a statement, this campaign is viewed as proof that department’s commitment to empowering rural communities of KwaBhaca. By providing learners with necessary resources, the government seeks to enhance their learning experience and equip them to make meaningful contributions to their communities in the future.
During a stakeholder engagement, community members and the School Governing Body (SGB) raised concerns regarding service delivery, school infrastructure, and access to basic amenities such as water and roads. Minister Nyhontso was accompanied by MEC for Agriculture, Ms. Nonceba Kontsiwe, and other local government officials.
The campaign is set to conclude at Meje Primary School in Winnie Madikizela Mandela Local Municipality, further demonstrating Minister Nyhontso’s dedication to supporting rural education.
