Official Response

Minister Creecy commended the project’s successful completion and the role it plays in national development.

“This interchange is more than just a piece of infrastructure — it is a gateway to opportunity. It enhances safety, supports economic growth, and provides much-needed jobs to the people of this region,” she said.

The infrastructure delivery remains a cornerstone of government’s commitment to service improvement.

Community Impact

Local residents welcomed the project, noting its positive effect on both safety and employment. The project provided numerous jobs to residents of Ndabakazi and surrounding areas, boosting local economic activity.

Taxi operators and commuters expressed appreciation for the improved road design, which is expected to ease congestion and reduce accident risks at one of the province’s busiest intersections.

The interchange is also seen as an investment in long-term development, improving access for businesses and transport services across the Amathole District.
