Mhlontlo Local Municipality, in partnership with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment (DFFE), the Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs, and Tourism (DEDEAT), the OR Tambo District Municipality, and Aquele on Thursday embarked on a cleaning Campaign.
This joint effort showcased the power of collective action in preserving the environment and enhancing the overall well-being of the community.
Tsolo Town, nestled in the heart of the Eastern Cape, has always been known for its natural beauty and close-knit community. However, like many towns, it faced challenges related to litter and waste management. The local authorities recognized the importance of addressing these issues, not only for the aesthetic appeal of the town but also for the health and safety of its residents.
The success of the Tsolo Town cleaning campaign was made possible through the collaborative spirit of the Mhlontlo Local Municipality and its dedicated partners. The active involvement of the DFFE, DEDEAT, OR Tambo District Municipality, and Aquele showcased their commitment to environmental conservation and community development.
In addition to the successful clean-up efforts, our Clean Up Campaign also embraced the spirit of environmental stewardship by planting trees in celebration of Arbor Month. This green initiative not only beautifies our community but also contributes to a healthier and more sustainable environment. By planting these trees, we are ensuring a greener future for generations to come, as they provide oxygen, shade, and support biodiversity in our area. It’s a testament to our commitment to both cleanliness and the well-being of our ecosystem.”
