All newly grantees were hosted by the MDDA on early December 2022 (08-09 December 2022), where they were trained on financial reporting skills, compliance and corporate governance.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of MDDA, Mr. Mzuvukile Kashe congratulated all  the approved applications, stating that only 33 applications could be approved due to limited resources.

“Due to limited resources, the agency can only award approvals to 33 community media projects. One of the greatest challenges facing the community media sector is lack of good governance which often paralysis many media projects. The MDDA continuously urge community media to place an increased focus on compliance and governance. – said Kashe.
