The Mbhashe Municipality held the second day of its Integrated Development Plan (IDP) review session today at the Xhora Town Hall. The event forms part of a series of public consultations running from 1 October 2025 to 31 May 2026, aimed at giving residents a platform to voice their ideas and concerns.
Cllr. Nombongo Apleni, Portfolio Head of the Budget and Treasury Office, presented updates on the municipality’s 2025/2026 IDP and the performance report for the previous financial year, 2024/2025.
Mayor Samkelo Janda closed the session by thanking the community for their active participation and constructive feedback. He praised residents for acknowledging the municipality’s efforts to improve service delivery while also pointing out areas needing attention.
“We are happy when you commend us for good work and also when you tell us where we fall short. It shows you see the progress, even though we are not perfect,” said Mayor Janda.
He also expressed special appreciation to members of the disability community for recognising the municipality’s role in restoring dignity, especially during Women’s Month.
The consultation sessions are designed to involve residents directly in decision-making on service delivery and municipal performance.
