  • Official Infrastructure Handover in Bizana: On 8 September 2025, Winnie Madikizela Mandela Local Municipality officially handed over various road construction, maintenance, and electrification projects across nine wards in Bizana, promoting local development.
  • Road Construction in Ward 02: MVI Construction is set to build a 4.6 km access road from Mbuthweni to Nokhatshile in Ward 02 within four months, improving transportation infrastructure.
  • Road Maintenance Projects: Multiple contractors will maintain existing roads in various wards, with each maintenance project expected to take two months, ensuring ongoing road quality and safety.

On 8 September 2025, the Winnie Madikizela Mandela Local Municipality Mayor TD Mafumbatha, together with her Executive Committee, officially handed over road construction, maintenance, and electrification projects to nine wards across Bizana.

In Ward 02, MVI Construction will build the 4.6 km Mbuthweni to Nokhatshile Access Road in four months. For maintenance projects, Igorha Trading will maintain the 6 km Sea View to Mabhanoyini Access Road (Ward 23), Last Number Projects the 5 km Khananda Access Road (Ward 29), Milibo Trading the 6.3 km Reformed via Bethula Access Road (Ward 22), and Mabozela Trading the 7 km Matshezini Access Road (Ward 25). Each maintenance project will take two months.

For electrification, Thake Electrical will connect 286 households in Ward 31 (Phase 4), ODG Technologies 219 households in Ward 06, and contractors in Ward 26 will electrify 174 households, all within 12 months.

Mayor Mafumbatha urged communities to support contractors for smooth project delivery. Over 30 temporary jobs will be created, focusing on youth employment. Project Steering Committees will ensure quality work and accountability.
