The Matatiele Local Municipality, through its Office of Communications and Special Programmes, is delighted to invite the community to the eagerly anticipated Mayoral Cup Semi-Finals and Finals. This annual sports event is a cornerstone of the municipality’s efforts to foster community participation in sports, arts, and cultural activities, with a special focus on reducing substance abuse among the youth.
The Mayoral Cup targets young athletes aged 19 and below, providing them with a platform to showcase their talents. The Sports Confederation Council and various federations play a crucial role in connecting the municipality with professional teams and scouts, ensuring that standout players have the opportunity to advance to professional levels.
This year’s semi-finals and finals promise an exciting day of competitive sports, featuring some of the best local talent in both soccer and netball.
