Mampintsha’s mother Zamanguni Gumede passed away at the Westworth Hospital at age 66 just weeks after her son’s burial. The mother of the late Kwaito Star Mandla ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumulo was hospitalized after suffering strokes.

Gumede’s health wasn’t stable leading to her death.

“The doctors say her liver has been affected and she had a stroke. But her stroke is not that bad. She will not be disabled if she takes her medication. She has not been able to eat properly and that is affecting how she takes her medication”, said Pinki a week before her mother’s passing.

Her health reportedly worsened after her son’s burial. Pinki Gumede, Zamanguni’s daughter told the media that their mother started getting sick before her son’s death but it had gotten worse after she buried her son.

She is not taking Mandla’s death well. She started feeling ill before him but got worse when he was admitted to hospital, she told the press.

Pinki Gumede, Mampintsha’s sister confirmed the death of her mother to TshisaLive.

“She called us at 10pm to come visit her at the hospital, me and my children. When we arrived she said she wanted to say her last goodbyes. She left us at 11pm”, she said.
