Masandawana are the champions of the Carling Black label cup after terrorizing Orlando Pirates by four goals to nil. Mamelodi Sundowns are the first team to win the new format of the tournament. There were only four teams participated out of 16 psl teams, Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Amazulu.
Early in the morning Mamelodi Sundowns opens up the field by defeating Amazulu 3-0, followed by Orlando Pirates defeating Kaizer Chiefs by 6-5 on penalties after playing goalless draw.
