On 09 October 2025, Eastern Cape Premier Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane paid a courtesy visit to Isuzu South Africa at its manufacturing plant in Struandale, Gqeberha. The visit reaffirmed the province’s commitment to industrial development, job creation, and economic growth.
Premier Mabuyane met with Isuzu SA President Billy Tom to discuss ways to expand collaboration between government and the automotive sector. He said the Eastern Cape remains “open for business” and ready to strengthen partnerships that support local manufacturing.

During the visit, Premier Mabuyane toured the Isuzu manufacturing facilities and reviewed the company’s current production operations. The engagement stressed the automotive sector’s vital role in driving the province’s economy and attracting new investment.
