On Friday, 31 October 2025, the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality held its Ordinary Council Meeting at the Lusikisiki Resource Centre. Chaired by Speaker S.B. Vatsha, the session addressed governance priorities, audit reports, and service delivery plans while honoring the legacy of O.R. Tambo Month.
What Happened
Concillor Vatsha opened the meeting by honouring the late struggle stalwart Oliver Reginald Tambo, reminding attendees of his leadership and commitment to public service. “We must be a council that is close to people’s needs and provide quality solutions,” she said.
The council reviewed minutes from previous meetings and noted progress on key resolutions. MPAC Chairperson Z. Noncokwana, presented oversight reports for Quarters 2, 3, and 4, as well as findings on irregular expenditure investigations.

Mayor P.N. Pepping presented executive reports, including the Quarter 1 performance review, the draft Section 52(d) report for 2025/2026, and the implementation of a court order addressing land invasion issues.
