In a collective effort to combat Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Femicide, government entities, civil society, and community leaders in Masakala Village, part of Matatiele in the Alfred Nzo District Municipality, will unite for the launch of the 16 Days of Activism Campaign on November 24, 2023. The campaign responds to a surge in reported GBV incidents, particularly affecting women and children in the region. Traditional leaders, community organizations, church leaders, political figures, and activists will lead a symbolic street march, culminating in a panel discussion at Masakala Community Hall. The aim is to engage the community in developing concrete strategies to end GBV and foster safer environments.
