Kaizer Chiefs are thrilled to announce the appointment of Mohamed Nasreddine Nabi as the new head coach of the men’s senior team. The club and Nabi have agreed on a two-year contract, with an option to extend for an additional year.
“After a thorough vetting process, we are delighted to welcome our new head coach to Kaizer Chiefs,” stated Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. “We believe Nabi is the right man to restore Amakhosi to our rightful place at the top of the football pyramid. We pledge unity and support to coach Nabi and his technical team in pursuit of our common goal.”
Nabi, a highly-respected Tunisian-born coach, brings a wealth of experience from coaching top teams in Libya, DR Congo, Egypt, Sudan, UAE, Tanzania, and Morocco. He has won silverware in several countries and participated with distinction in African Club competitions. Notably, he is a CAF Confederation Cup winner with FC Leopards in Congo. At 58, Nabi holds a UEFA Pro coaching license and introduces a skilled technical support team.
The New Technical Team:
Khalil Ben Youssef, First Assistant Coach: Recently worked with Nabi at AS Far, qualifying the team for the CAF Champions League. Also collaborated with Nabi at Young Africans in Tanzania, achieving back-to-back trebles.
Fernando Da Cruz, Second Assistant Coach: Holds a UEFA Pro license and has experience in coaching, technical directing, scouting, and youth coaching in Belgium, France, and Morocco.
Ilyes Mzoughi, Goalkeeping Coach: Brings extensive experience from working with teams in Africa and the Middle East, including the Mauritanian national team and clubs in Tunisia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Libya.
Safi Majdi, Strength and Conditioning Coach/Assistant Coach: Worked with top footballers and leading teams in Africa, including Etoile du Sahel, Raja Casablanca, and Wydad Athletic.
The new technical staff have already commenced their duties in Türkiye, conducting a pre-season training camp to assess the squad and devise strategies for the upcoming season.
