The Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Office of the Joe Gqabi District Municipality (JGDM) officially launched its 2025 Annual Medical Testing Program on 27 October 2025. The initiative kicked off in the Elundini Local Municipality, covering staff in Tlokoeng, Nqanqarhu, and Ugie, as part of ongoing efforts to safeguard employee health.
What Happened
The five-day program began with comprehensive medical assessments for JGDM employees stationed in the Elundini area. Staff underwent routine health checks designed to detect potential risks early, including screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, and general wellness indicators.
The initiative forms part of the municipality’s broader commitment to occupational health and safety, ensuring staff remain healthy, productive, and compliant with workplace safety standards. The program will move to other JGDM offices across the district.
