Jessica Motaung Appointed to FIFA Men’s Football Stakeholders Committee

Jessica Motaung, Marketing and Commercial Director at Kaizer Chiefs, has been appointed to the FIFA Men’s Football Stakeholders Committee for the 2025–2029 term, marking a milestone for South African representation in global football governance. The announcement was made on Monday, 6 October 2025, during the 47th CAF Ordinary General Assembly in Kinshasa, DR Congo.

Motaung’s selection is seen as recognition of her years of dedication, expertise, and influence in both South African and African football. Her appointment adds to her growing reputation — she previously served on CAF’s Women’s Football Standing Committee and as Deputy Chairperson of the African Clubs Association (ACA).

Dr Kaizer Motaung, Executive Chairman of Kaizer Chiefs, called the appointment “a well-deserved recognition,” and expressed pride that the club, the country, and the continent would now be represented at one of FIFA’s key decision-making bodies.

Jessica, for her part, thanked the Chiefs organisation, the PSL (led by Dr Irvin Khoza), SAFA under Dr Danny Jordaan, the African Clubs Association under Eng. Hersi Said, and CAF under President Patrice Motsepe for their support. She said she looked forward to contributing to the continent’s football administration and learning from her peers.

Her journey in football leadership began earlier with her role on CAF’s Women’s Football Standing Committee, and her service as Deputy Chairperson at ACA further cemented her profile.

As she takes on the new FIFA role, she will carry the aspirations of South African football — working on committees that influence governance, stakeholder engagement, and technical development across global men’s football.

Her appointment is not only a personal achievement but also a strong statement on the rising influence of women in football governance — positioning South Africa, Kaizer Chiefs, and Africa on a larger, more influential stage.
