Amahle Mbangatha, the radio presenter of Inkonjane Community Radio Station’s Vukanathi Breakfast and Kids show known by her listeners as MaFaku, has won the best female presenter and the best dressed female presenter during the 3rd Annual ICRA Awards 2022 in Ntabankulu on Saturday 9th of December.
Despite being in the industry for less than a year Mbangatha brought glory to her home and name. “My passion and determination for what I love and what I want to have carried me this far and there is more I’m still yet to accomplish because I believe I am still far from who and what I’m destined to be”, she says.
Mbangatha, a PR graduate started her campaigning for the awards in November and has been leading in the polls up to the final day of voting. “ I am still in disbelief that in less than a year being an employed radio presenter I managed to bag two awards, that alone is huge to me and such a great achievement,” says Mbangatha. She adds that winning these awards means a lot to her and gave her the assurance she needed that there’s something she’s doing right.
Being herself is her superpower because of knows that no one can ever be her she lets herself be her and be unique. Coming from a deep rural area in Flagstaff at Mqhume and having a disadvantaged background did not hold her back and hopes that her story will be inspirational to all young people and shouldn’t hold back from dreaming big.
You can be whatever you want and not dream but strive to be what you want to be, I want them to know my life story and relate to it, and may it be a great inspiration to them. – she concludes.
