On 10 October 2025, the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality (IHLM) held a Special Council Meeting at Bisi Community Hall in Ward 7, Flagstaff. The session, chaired by Councillor. S.B. Vatsha, focused on key council reports, governance matters, and updates on municipal projects.
What Happened
The meeting brought together councillors, senior officials, and community representatives to discuss ongoing municipal programmes. Presentations were delivered by both the Speaker and Her Worship the Mayor, P.N. Pepping. Speaker Vatsha presented a report covering the Municipal Demarcation Board (MDB) status and the Code of Conduct for councillors.
He emphasised the importance of maintaining ethical leadership and compliance with governance standards.
Official Response
Mayor Pepping presented the Executive Committee (EXCO) Report, which showed progress on several key projects. These included the Driver Licensing and Testing Centre (DLTC), electrification projects, and disaster management programmes. “We are committed to ensuring that all projects meet their deadlines and deliver the expected services to our communities,” said Mayor Pepping.
She also called on all departments to improve coordination and reporting to fast-track project completion.
