Walter Sisulu University (WSU) welcomed the Hollywoodbets Foundation to its Buffalo City and Butterworth campuses to raise awareness about its Bursary Fund. The visit follows fruitful discussions between WSU’s Alumni Relations Office and WSU PR graduate, Kuhle Mkhize, who now serves as Hollywoodbets Public Relations Manager.
The initiative aimed to engage ICT students, informing them about bursary opportunities and offering guidance on how to apply. The foundation’s visit demonstrates the value of maintaining strong alumni relationships, which can lead to strategic partnerships that directly benefit students.
Sandiso Mbongo, Deputy Director of WSU’s Alumni Relations Office, emphasized the significance of these initiatives.
“This comes just a few months after our Alumni Reunion at Butterworth Campus. It shows the importance of events focused on building relationships with alumni. Continued engagement helps create opportunities that directly support our students,” he said.
The visit reflects WSU’s commitment to student development and the power of alumni networks in opening doors to scholarships, bursaries, and career guidance. By leveraging these connections, the university ensures that students gain both financial support and mentorship from experienced professionals in the industry.
WSU looks forward to strengthening these ties further, with more alumni-driven initiatives expected in the coming months to enhance student growth and learning opportunities.
