Chippa United

In honouring Nelson Mandela Day, premier of the Eastern Cape, Lubabalo Oscar Mabuyane made an appearance alongside Chippa Mpengesi Foundation alongside together and Chippa United Football club in Deberha, a rural area in Engcobo, Eastern Cape in a house handover ceremony.

The event took place after the premier had not been seen in public for a while.

Oscar Mabuyane teamed up with Chippa United to hand over keys to two brand new homeowners in celebration of 67 minutes, Mandela Day. Chippa United means a lot to the future generations and the youth that still shows great interest in the sport.

A senior citizen welcomed his new home after experiencing an unfortunate loss of his house burning down. His house was built in less than a month of the event.

Mabuyane also stated that the government has built over 4 million houses across South Africa ever since it came into power.

In his speech, he mentioned that senior citizens and children often fall victims of GBV and other forms of abuse and that the homes were not just houses but security provided for them.

The government has a program in action to continue building homes and ensuring citizens are taken care of.

Oscar Mabuyane said if citizens continue working together, greater things would be achieved.
