In a recent exclusive interview with Pondoland Times, Sibapiwe Hadebe shared her remarkable journey from her humble beginnings in Nxarhabe, Flagstaff, Eastern Cape, to her current residence in Pietermaritzburg, where she has established herself as a wife, mother of three, IT Audit manager, and community builder.
Reflecting on her upbringing, Hadebe recounted attending local schools in Nxarhabe and Flagstaff before completing her studies at Zingisa High School in Umtata. Her pursuit of higher education led her to Pietermaritzburg, where she obtained a degree in Computer Science and Information Technology from UKZN PMB campus. It was in Pietermaritzburg where she found employment, got married, and decided to settle down.
Balancing her myriad roles, Hadebe emphasized the importance of exercise, early rising, and meticulous planning. She credited her strong support system, including her husband, family, and friends, for enabling her to manage her responsibilities effectively.
When asked about her participation in the Dallmayr Mrs South Africa competition, Hadebe revealed her lifelong passion for modeling, which began at the age of three under her late mother’s guidance. After a hiatus to focus on education and career, she rediscovered her love for modeling and entered the Mrs South Africa pageant, motivated by the opportunities it offered to uplift her community.

Recalling her experience as a semi-finalist in the competition, Hadebe highlighted memorable moments from the casting weekend, where she felt empowered and connected with fellow contestants. She emphasized her commitment to children’s holistic development and expressed her intention to use the Mrs South Africa platform to advance her projects aimed at supporting childhood and youth development.
As an IT Audit manager, Hadebe brings a unique blend of IT expertise and audit skills to the competition. She emphasized the importance of upskilling children and young people in a technology-driven world. Her resilience, adaptability, and unwavering determination, honed through life’s challenges, set her apart as a contestant.
Looking ahead, Hadebe outlined her aspirations to establish an NGO focusing on childhood and youth development, collaborate with modeling agencies to empower models, and ultimately bring the Mrs South Africa crown home. She underscored her commitment to sharing her experiences and skills with other women, encouraging them to pursue their dreams fearlessly.
