GQEBERHA UNDER SIEGE – GUN WIELDING FOREIN NATIONALS ATTACK THE TAXI INDUSTRY IN PE

Date:

Foreign Nationals said to be of Somalian descent burnt a fleet of taxis in Gqeberha (formerly known as Port Elizabeth) in yesterday. Pictures of militant men dressed in hijabs with assault rifles have been circulating on social media the past few hours. It is said that the heavily armed men have aimed their guns towards the taxi industry burning a fleet of taxis in the process. There have been no fatalities reported at the moment, but the public has shown fear of a war that’s brewing with the taxi industry infamously known for its notorious thirst for violence.

The reason for the attack is unclear at the moment and so is the answer to how foreign nationals were able to be in position of such heavy artillery that even the police do not carry.

War Brewing in Gqeberha

The taxi industry is notoriously known for violence in this country with a series of assassinations carried out every now and then and a series of taxis wars that has left orphans and widows. With that in mind it is just a question of when they will retaliate against such actions.

The Pondoland Times is in the process of getting information on the amount of damage caused by this attack, a statement from Government and Taxi Owners Association to give you a more detailed report.

The Government Remains Mum

With the incident happening in broad day light with some of the attackers faces making rounds on social media, there have been no confirmation of arrests and no word from National Government as this action threatens national security. The fear in the public spectrum is warranted as these men carried guns that an average civilian in the country do not have access to.
