The Glass Recycling Company (TGRC) has launched its 2025 Annual Schools Competition, encouraging educational institutions across South Africa to participate in a dynamic challenge of glass recycling. The competition, which kicked off on February 1, 2025, aims to tackle environmental pollution while promoting sustainability and offering substantial rewards.
With over R440,000 in prizes up for grabs, schools can compete to recycle the most glass bottles and jars in their region. The competition is open to schools in Gauteng, the Western Cape Peninsula, Eastern Cape, and the Greater Durban and Pietermaritzburg areas.
Participating schools can secure a free glass bank from TGRC and encourage their communities to contribute recyclable glass. The top-recycling schools will receive monthly and grand prizes, showcasing their commitment to environmental sustainability.
TGRC’s mission is to promote glass recycling across South Africa, educating and motivating individuals and communities to engage in sustainable practices. By participating in the competition, schools can make a positive impact on their environment while empowering their communities.
