A G4S security guard was shot and killed by unknown assailants in front of the Capitec Bank in Lusikisiki town earlier today. The suspects fled the scene with a substantial amount of money they robbed from the security vehicle.
An eyewitness reported hearing gunshots and seeking refuge in a nearby shop, where she and others were locked inside until the shooting ceased and police arrived. Another witness recounted seeing the entire incident unfold, expressing deep distress and a newfound respect for security personnel.
No arrests have been made at this time. Lusikisiki police have launched an investigation, and a case of murder and robbery has been opened.
