Small businesses and cooperatives in the Ingquza Hill Local Municipality have a fresh opportunity to grow, with funding applications now open for the 2025/26 financial year.
The municipality is calling on existing enterprises based in Lusikisiki, Flagstaff, and nearby areas to apply for support. Only businesses already in operation will be considered—start-ups are excluded.
Priority sectors include agriculture, tourism, arts, ICT, retail, automotive repairs, carpentry, mining, and small-scale manufacturing. The aim is to boost job creation and support ventures that contribute to local economic growth.
Applicants must be South African citizens aged 18 or older and able to provide proof of business activity in the area. A complete application includes company registration, tax clearance, a business plan, recent bank statements, proof of address, and motivation for funding. The funding is capped at R150,000 and covers equipment only—not groceries, feed, or perishables.
Women, youth, and persons with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.
Hand-delivered applications must be submitted before Friday, 29 August 2025, at the LED offices in Flagstaff or Lusikisiki.
For enquiries, applicants can contact Mr. M. Zweni or Mr. D. Mjokovana at 039 252 0131 or via email.
