What Happened

At around 21:30 on Wednesday, SAPS members from Kwazakele, acting under the intensified Operation Shanela II, responded to a tip-off about armed suspects traveling in a silver Suzuki Celerio. The vehicle was located in Mbane Street, Zwide, where a chase ensued after the suspects refused to stop.

The pursuit ended in Quza Street, where three suspects fled the car. The driver was immediately apprehended with two revolvers and a blank firearm in his possession. SAPS officers tracked the remaining suspects to a nearby flat and arrested them.
