The event was attended by MEC Sibulele Ngongo, Generations actress Andile Nebulane, O.R. Tambo Executive Mayor Hon. M.D. Ngqondwana, and O.R. Tambo DSRAC Director Mr. Mdlangazi.
The day’s excitement was lifted by the Khiwa’s Media Tournament 2025, where the Ex-Professionals beat the Legal Team 1-0 in football, and the Eastern Cape Politicians triumphed 4-1 on penalties over the Artists after a goalless draw.
Netball quarter-final results saw Seven X beat Celtics 18-11 in the Cape Town derby, Telly Tubbies defeat Young Ladies 14-8, Utah 1 overcome Qokolweni 16-5 in the Mthatha derby, and Kei Legends secure a 17-10 win over Flagstaff Roses.
In the semi-finals, Utah 1 narrowly beat Seven X 12-11 to advance to the final, while Telly Tubbies claimed a 16-8 win over Kei Legends.
The finals crowned Vobi Stars FC as football champions, earning R35,000, while Telly Tubbies took the netball title and R10,000 in prize money.
