N2 Road was closed for hours after a disturbing accident happened in Kwabhaca on Friday 11 July 2025.
A truck driver lost control while driving towards Qumbu on the N2 in Kwabhaca and disturbed two vehicles a taxi and a van.
Five people were confirmed dead on the scene while others where crushed into Madzikane KaZulu Memorial Hospital and are critical injured.
“I was outside talking on the phone when I had a disturbing sound I turned and look saw the horrible accident happening just two houses in front of my home” said a neighbor
“The truck driver was going towards Mthatha when he couldn’t control his truck full of bricks and hit the bakkie full of people and a taxi full of church members on their way to church” community member said
Relatives had to identify some of deceased relatives from the Quantum with some of their body parts removed from their bodies.
The Quantum driver and the truck driver are critical injured while the bakkie driver has not sustain no injuries.
“We need prayers in this road we witness accidents every now and then,last week 4 accidents happened here close to our houses, we even scared to send children to the shops” said an Eye witness
