What Happened

The Clash of the Battalions featured a challenging course across tarred roads, rocky terrain, and uneven ground. Despite the rising heat, participants maintained focus and discipline throughout the race.

Lieutenant General Lawrence Khulekani Mbatha, Chief of the South African Army, completing the 10-kilometre run alongside soldiers and police personnel. The course demanded peak physical condition and strategic pacing, emphasizing both endurance and mental resilience.

Private T. Xaba won the men’s 10-kilometre race, while Private U. Magalaganqa claimed the women’s title. Their performances reflected rigorous preparation and unwavering determination.

“Nothing is impossible. One must not let pain dictate their actions, as it is the mind that matters most,” he said.
