The four-day EXCO IDP Outreach Programme, led by Umzimvubu Local Municipality, wrapped up in Ward 23. Local leadership met residents at Mpondomise Community Hall to review development priorities and gather feedback.
What Happened
The outreach began on 13 October 2025 as part of the municipality’s Integrated Development Plan (IDP) public participation process. On 16 October 2025, the final session took place. Team C engaged directly with the Ward 23 community to listen to their concerns and suggestions.
Councillor Thabisa Sokhanyile, who stood in for the Mayor, led the session. She was joined by Ward Councillor Mampemvini, municipal officials, and Alfred Nzo District representatives. Many residents attended and took the opportunity to contribute their views on local development.
Official Response
Councillor Sokhanyile thanked the community for its strong involvement throughout the outreach.
“I would like to extend a word of gratitude to all community members who participated in the four-day EXCO IDP Outreach that took place across Umzimvubu. Their comments will help us improve in our efforts to build a better Umzimvubu,” she said.
She emphasized that public input is essential for effective planning and responsive governance.
Community Impact
Public consultations like this strengthen transparency and ensure that residents help shape local development. With feedback collected from all wards, the municipality can now refine its plans to better meet community needs.
