In a strategic move to bolster its governance structures, the Eskom Board has appointed Mr. Leslie Mkhabela as the Lead Independent Director, effective January 31, 2025. This development is a significant step towards ensuring robust checks and balances within the organization.
Mr. Mkhabela, a seasoned professional with extensive experience in regulated industries, joined the Eskom Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director on October 1, 2022. His appointment was part of the new board constituted by the late Minister of Public Enterprises, Mr. Pravin Gordhan.
