The department of Labour hosted a career exhibition at the Adelaide and Oliver regional hospital auditorium on Monday, the exhibition was hosted under the theme ‘‘taking service to the people’’ in the verge to try and match the youth with opportunities aligned with their career choices and sharing information about services stakeholders invited offer, for various individuals.
Stakeholders that were present are The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), Manufacturing Engineering and Other Related Service Sector Education and Training Authority (MerSETA), Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment (DEFF) Department of Social Development and Mbizana Career guidance centre. The stakeholders exposed the youth to potential employers and educational opportunities for candidates that are in pursuit of educational career routes.
It was also an open networking session where youth was allowed to share contact details with peers and stakeholders and potential business partners. Incentives for further reading and accessing information were handed out to the youth.
The department of employment and labour share more information of issues like Career counseling, unemployment insurance fund claims and enquiries, national minimum wage bill and registration of work seekers for future placements.
