Umzimvubu Local Municipality has marked a significant milestone in its commitment to enhancing public infrastructure and services with the completion of the 5th phase of the Emaxesibeni Multipurpose Centre. This latest phase, concluded in April, has created additional employment opportunities and enriched the facility’s amenities for the benefit of the community.
Since its inception, the project has generated over 35 employment opportunities and contributed to the local economy. Phase 5 has created an estimated 15 additional jobs, further boosting the workforce and fostering economic growth in the region.
The scope of work for phase 5 included the installation of a robust fencing system, a modern sewerage system, and ablution facilities for enhanced sanitation. An indoor sports equipment area was also created to promote physical activity and well-being. The addition of a VIP suite, fan stands, and floor markings for indoor games signifies a commitment to providing a premium experience for users of the multipurpose center.
The completion of phase 5 represents a significant investment in the future of Umzimvubu, with the project boasting a total worth exceeding four million rand. This milestone underscores the Municipality’s dedication to fostering growth, improving infrastructure, and enriching the lives of its residents.
