On 10 September 2025, the Elundini Local Municipality held an HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign at Taung Village, Maclear in Ward 16. Acting Mayor, Nomalungisa Ngcuka, led the programme which included handing over school uniforms to four learners at Taung Primary School and groceries to four struggling families.

The campaign aimed to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS while also supporting vulnerable groups within the community. Learners from Taung Primary School received new school uniforms to ease the financial burden on their families. In addition, four households were provided with essential groceries as part of the municipality’s social support initiatives.
