The Eastern Cape Rural Development Agency (ECRDA) is playing a key role at the SANParks Vision 2040 Indaba, a three-day event running from 3 to 5 September 2025. The gathering unites government, civil society, land claimant communities, academia, women, youth, private sector players, and conservation partners to chart a new path for South Africa’s natural heritage.

Leading ECRDA’s participation is CEO Mr. Simpiwe Somdyala, who is among the dignitaries shaping discussions at the Indaba. As a Scene Setter, he is steering conversations on Inclusive Economic Growth under the theme “Diverse Perspectives on Actions Towards Inclusive Conservation.” His message focuses on the need to link conservation with rural development and community prosperity.

ECRDA is also showcasing its programmes through exhibitions that spotlight initiatives aimed at empowering rural communities, creating economic opportunities, and driving sustainable development across the Eastern Cape.
